The Foodies / Resources
These pages are a mixture of our own resources, and those we have found from other people and organisations. Some resources here have been provided by practitioners and parents who have tried and tested them, but you will have to assess for yourself the benefits for your own children and whether it will meet the guidelines you are working with.
Some resources are created by food industries. While they are not allowed to promote intentionally inaccurate information, they will naturally wish to promote their product as the most important part of the diet. However some of the resources they provide are very good when used in context. Wherever I am aware that a resource is industry sponsored I will say so, and you can exercise your common sense in evaluating it.

Fab Fruit Jelly04/03/2011 20:32:00 Fab Fruit Jelly 4 leaves gelatine (enough to set 600ml liquid)
250g strawberries washed, patted dry and chopped
50ml boiling water
550ml berry juice (e.g. cranberry from a carton)
Method Put the gelatine leaves in a small bowl and cover with cold water until they are soft and squidgy (3-4minutes). Hull the washed strawberries, cut them into small bite-sized pieces and put them in a bowl.
Put the softened gelatine leaves into the measuring jug. Pour 50ml boiling water over the gelatine leaves. Stir carefully to dissolve the gelatine.
Add the berry juice to the dissolved gelatine and make the measuring jug up to 600ml.
Divide the strawberries between the tubs, glasses or moulds, and pour the jelly over the fruit.
Put into a fridge for about 45 minutes to set.
