Jamie Oliver's TED speech

One for the adults, but this is Jamie's very inspiring speech at the TED awards, which summarises the problems with childhood obesity and the impact on public health.

It's about 20 minutes long, and as you've come to a site about helping children to have a healthy relationship with food, you will think that you can't be surprised by a talk about what is wrong with our food. However the way he puts across some of the points is genuinely frightening but effective and the overall tone of the speech is very inspiring.

If you can spare the 20 minutes it is worth the investment. Depending on where you are, you may need to click the link in the video to watch the video on the youtube site.

Healthy Popsicles This recipe is from the Kids Cooking Channel on Youtube. In this recipe they use pomegranate juice, fruit, yoghurt, cocnut oil, and baby rice. The baby rice is great for thickening and is also fairly cheap, but you could swap any of these for a similar alternative. You can also find their recipe here. ...

Mini Meatloaves

Mini Meatloaves

19/04/2013

Mini Meatloaves Bear and Bee at threefootcooks are in the kitchen again making these great mini meatloaves. Plenty of healthy ingredients pressed in to muffin tins which is great for holding them together. Essentially it's a burger, but baked instead of fried, so they're healthier and with a yummy sauce to paint on the top of them too. This is a great recipe for sneaking in some extra veggie portions! You can find this recipe here. ...
