Planting Runner Beans At Orleton Primary School

Orleton School is a primary school in rural Herefordshire. The school recently became a flagship school for the Food For Life programme. As a flagship school the children are very involved with their food, growing some fruits and vegetables for the school kitchen, learning how to make healthy snacks, joining in a cookery club, and visiting local farms.

In 2009 a local theatre company performed Jack and the Beanstalk and in the week that followed, class 2 planted the school's french beans. Some class 2 and 3 children and some Reception children also planted some runner beans after school, and this video shows the after school planting session.
