Make Your Own Salad Game

This drag and drop game helps you build a plate of yummy salad, with a balance of foods.

Using the mouse, children have to add leaves, fruit, protein, carbs and a topping of your choice. The game only allows one or two of each type and a little 5-a-day-o-meter in the corner gives children an idea how well their plate is contributing to their intake of fruit and veg, so encourages them to keep adding more greens.

There is no right or wrong answer and no end to the game, they can print the plate when they're happy with it or clear the plate and make a new meal.

The game was developed by the British Leafy Salads website which promotes the British salad industry.

You can play the game

This video version from Look and Taste Tips youtube channel is a mustard one (because it was made to give a great tip about using up the last sc...

This is a great breakfast idea which will fill them up and make them smile and enable you to get them to postpone the chocolate carnage for a little longer. The recipe was created by Carrie over at worthpinning.com and was inspired by some ...

Easter Chick Boiled Eggs

Easter Chick Boiled Eggs This is a lovely idea originally from the Manga Cookbook, but we saw in on JustJENN's recipe site, where she tried it out with her own children. It's a lovely way to present a boiled egg as an Easter treat. Kids eat so much sweet food over Easter, you need to make sure they are getting a little protein in to stop their blood sugar constantly rocketing up and down. So if you're having an Easter themed meal, you could put some of these in the mix. If you'...
