These pages are a mixture of our own resources, and those we have found from other people and organisations. Some resources here have been provided by practitioners and parents who have tried and tested them, but you will have to assess for yourself the benefits for your own children and whether it will meet the guidelines you are working with.
Some resources are created by food industries. While they are not allowed to promote intentionally inaccurate information, they will naturally wish to promote their product as the most important part of the diet. However some of the resources they provide are very good when used in context. Wherever I am aware that a resource is industry sponsored I will say so, and you can exercise your common sense in evaluating it.

The fruits are shown in both sliced and whole form. Good fast fun. To ... Jamie Oliver's Crunchy Garlic Chicken09/06/2011 11:43:00 Jamie Oliver's Crunchy Garlic Chicken This recipe is part of Jamie Oliver's bank of recipes being provided for his US Food Revolution. It is a great basic recipe because it provides the satisfaction of a chicken nugget for the fast food lover in your house. Crispy Breaded Cauliflower09/06/2011 10:44:00 Crispy Breaded Cauliflower I found this recipe on a cool site for kids called Root4Kids which encourages children to get growing across America. I've put some further information about the site in the websites section. This particular recipe was given to the site by dietitian Heidi McIndoo. If your kids like crispy everything this is a great way to get them to enjoy the taste of cauliflower, which not everyone gets straight away. It is oven baked rather than fried, so is a healthy... Healthy Plate Of Food Game09/05/2011 12:59:00 Healthy Plate Of Food Game There are a few games around which allow you to choose foods and drag and drop them onto a plate to see what sort of meal you'd make. This one is particularly good because it gives you an analysis on the right hand side of how balanced your meal is in terms of different food groups and the nutritients you're looking to take it. Also if you double click on any food, a little card pops up with more sophisticated information about the nutritional profile ... |
